מאמר זה עוסק באתגרים מוסריים במציאות מלחמתית א-סימטרית. המאמר מנסח ארבעה עקרונות של מוסר לחימה, ומנסה ליישמם בהקשר הא-סימטרי. אחד ממאפייניו של ההקשר הא-סימטרי הוא שהאויב אינו מבחין את עצמו מסביבתו האזרחית, ומטמיע את בסיסי הפעולה שלו בלב הסביבה האזרחית. בלחימה כזאת, מעצם טיבה, צפויה פגיעה נלווית רחבה באזרחים. המאמר מתמקד בניתוח עקרון האחריות, הקובע כי יש לעשות מאמץ לצמצם פגיעה כזאת ככל האפשר, ובעיקר בשאלה אם במסגרת עקרון האחריות מוטלת על החיילים חובה ליטול על עצמם סיכון על-מנת לצמצם פגיעה נלווית, ומה מידת הסיכון שעליהם ליטול על עצמם לצורך זה.
Moral Challenges in A-Symmetrical War

Abstract
This article deals with moral challenges that arise in the context of a-symmetrical war. The article explicates four principles of just war and attempts to implement them in the a-symmetrical context. One of the features of this context is that the enemy does not distinguish itself from its civilian environment and establishes its operational bases in the heart of the civilian population; in such combat extensive collateral harm to civilians is to be expected.
The article focuses on the analysis of the 'principle of responsibility', according to which every effort to minimize such harm must be undertaken. Furthermore, the article discusses the question of the soldiers' responsibility to take risks in order to minimize any collateral harm and the extent of the risk they should expose themselves to for this purpose.
